Supportive Services

The Campus Advocate provides support for those affected by sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, sexual exploitation, and stalking. Survivors and significant others can access services about incidents that occurred on or off campus.

Supportive Services are available to:

Students             Staff              Faculty
CARE welcomes individuals of all gender identities, sexual orientations, races, classes, and abilities. 

Free and Confidential Help:

We provide free and knowledgeable support services for those impacted by sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, human trafficking, and stalking. 

This includes: 

  • free and supportive services with the Confidential CARE Campus Advocate
  • accompaniment for medical exams, law enforcement interviews, Title IX or student conduct meetings
  • accompaniment to court appearances
  • referrals to campus departments for employment, academic, and housing accommodations
  • crisis counseling and safety planning
  • emergency transportation
  • assistance with restraining orders
  • referrals to community resources
  • and more dependent on the needs of the survivor

CARE Advocacy Model

Valley Crisis Center directly employs the CARE Campus Advocate. The CARE Campus Advocate is a confidential resource available to all UC Merced constitutes. The CARE Campus Advocate is known to render services Mon-Friday from 9-5 p.m. CARE guests directly connect with the CARE Campus Advocate in in-person or via phone. The CARE Campus Advocate conducts all intakes.  All services are rendered through an empowerment model.
