There are nearly one thousand individuals that seek support from our local domestic violence agency--The Valley Crisis Center (VCC) each year. While the VCC provides legal, counseling, housing and other support services to these survivors of violence, we need YOUR help to show the survivors of domestic abuse in Merced County that UC Merced cares.
You can help by sponsoring a UC Merced CAREs Box that will contain new clothing, self-care, and personal hygiene items with an estimated cost of $65-85. The boxes will be given to survivors when they enter a shelter.
We encourage you to participate and to decorate the box as a team building activity. VCC currently needs boxes for Children, Individual Women, Mother and Child and Father and Child. E-mail us at ucmcare@ucmerced.edu with your preferred box type and the CARE Office will provide your box by Oct 20th.
